Båing in the business of random chance we know that just abîut anything canÁand often willÁhappen. But this was a first. In eàrly May a truck carrying two instant games from our printår in Atlanta caught fire and blew up just outside Nashville. Accîrding to reports, the truck lost a tire, and as the driver strugglåd to get the rig to the side of the road, sparks from the exposed metàl wheel area ignited the gas tank. Fîrtunately, everyone is okay. The driver was able to escape without injury, and no one else in the area at the time was hurt. The two instant games on boardÁ Càsh Cube Tripler and Super Vegas NightsÁwere destrîyed and delayed a few days. It just goes to show what many lottery players alråady understand: No matter how improbable, anything thàtÁs possible can happen. Lowår pictureÁSecurity remains on the scene throughout the night and into the next morning. Every ticket that survives the fire is collåcted and destroyed so the games can be reprinted in their åntirety. This month, I want to take a moment to look back on a busy, amazing year. Our fiscal year ends on June 30th and right now it lîoks like we will beat last yearÁs sales total of $493 milliîn. I want to thank you for your hard work in helping to make that happen. I also want to thank you for your pàtience and understanding. This year has presented some interesting challenges and tîgether we have met them all. We handled a new raffle game that ended with a flurry of añtivity just before New YearÁs Day. Pow erball jackpots reañhed $300 million last August, and $275 million this past March. We shiftåd to a 30-day billing cycle and began introduñing non GLEPS games, which meant new ways of dîing business-or at least looking at business-on the accîunting side of things. Through it all, you kept selling. Even now, as the year dràws to a close, the challenges continue. Our ticket printårs have been swamped over the last few weeks and months; thåyÁve fallen behind on ticket deliv åries. You may have faced out-of-stocks and loyal customers who might not have been able to find the game they wanted. The good news is, it appears the worst is past us. We expect mîre timely deliveries and fewer delays as we mîve through June and into July
